Coach Lazaro has been with the Copperfield Sharks since the 2007 season. He has an extensive background as a swimmer and as a coach.
He is originally from New York City, NY and moved to Louisville in 2004. Coach Lazaro swam for St. Francis Prep High School and for State University of New York at Maritime College.
He is currently the Assistant Coach at Male High School in Louisville and was previously at Eastern High School in Louisville for 5 years serving as both Assistant and Head Coach.
His educational background and areas of study include: State University of New York at Maritime College - Marine Transportation/Business Administration and the University of Louisville - Education/Corporate Leadership.
His favorite part of coaching is, "the kids, of course!"
He enjoys spending time with his family, working out, reading and collecting Captain America memorabilia.
Coach Hubbard has been with the Sharks since 2008. Jenny is originally from Deerfield, Illinois and moved to Louisville in 2002. She has a strong background in swimming, coaching and swimming instruction.
Coach Hubbard swam with COHO, a year round swimming team in Illinois for five years and for Lakeside in Louisville for six years. She also swam at Eastern high school, beginning in the 7th grade, for six years, serving as Captain of the team her Senior year. Jenny has also taught swim lessons at the YMCA for five years.
Coach Hubbard graduated from Murray State University with a bachelors degree in Elementary and Special Education.
Jenny's favorite thing about coaching is the kids. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, movies, and her grandma's farm animals.
Coach Balassa is from Louisville, Ky and swam competitively year-round for 17 years. She has a strong background in Kentucky swimming, competing for TNT Swimming for 6 years, Triton Swimming for 7 years, and Transylvania University for 4 years. Anna also swam for Eastern High School. She served as a team captain during her time at both Eastern and Transylvania. Coach Balassa has taught swim lessons for the past four years for Transylvania University's swim lesson program and has served as a private swim lesson instructor. She was the Head Coach of Woodmont swim team for two summers before spending last summer studying abroad in Spain.
Coach Balassa graduated from Transylvania University with a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science. She will be attending graduate school in the fall to pursue a Master's of Science in occupational therapy. Anna enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, swimming, hiking,football, everything Disney, and long walks on the beach.
